I tend to be a bit obsessive when it comes to adding things to my plate or "to-do list" regardless of how much I am already doing. For me? It keeps me from focusing on the "less effective" things to more productive. So from an inspiration I saw at my Uncle's house I decided I wanted to change up our closet downstairs that is under our stairs into a play room for the girls. So here is the before:
The after will have to wait...I am just starting to clean out the closet today. It may take some time and effort to get things as I plan on spending as little as possible. (Free would be great!) But Ill keep you all posted.
Oh and by the way? ANY ideas on how to decorate, do, or make it fun for kids would be greatly appreciated! I seem to have the ideas....but not the creative know-how. ")

Defying the laws...
I caught this precious pic when the two girls both made thier way into our bed one early Saturday morning...Initially they were on opposite sides of our King Bed. That is how I left them. When I came back in to check on my 2 sleeping beauties, they had found a way to defy the law of "you're in my space" and showed me that as sisters, they are closer than I think.

Reminicing...
December was a great month. Busy, Beautiful with the snow and the holidays were great. However, I was ready for the New Year to start and when it did- it packed a WHOLLUP! So I found myself reminiscing about December here are just a few things in pictures that happened:
Christmas Lights at the Temple...we about froze the girls I think. It was pretty cold!
Close up time with Santa~ (or one of his helpers anyway) If you look really close you will see that this helper of Santa's is cousin Josh Hansen!.On a side note- the skirts the girls are wearing are one of the sewing projects I have been doing. They are scarfs that I re-purposed into skirts! Super cute!

Long and short of it
I am still reeling from Sofia deciding to take matters into her scissor holding hands and literally sheer herself and then show sisterly love and turn on Ella's hair. It took more of a toll on my motherly pride than I thought. I really felt like a failure for awhile...sigh.
I did not take a picture of the floor as I found it covered in hair- I thought about it, but was freaking out so bad, the Red Flame went behind me and cleaned it up before I could come back and get a pic and get even more upset. So I guess I have to thank him for that. Without further adue-
Here's the long...

Everyone else is doing it...
I have been extremely astounded at what the World Wide Web has done in the last few years. It seems as though people have become "instant celebrities" with blogs being followed, Etsy shops being created and talents people possess that are able to reach the masses.
I have had a desire (for the last several years now) to start something that I could use my interests and talent (however small they may be!) in doing something that I found to be a most precious gift when my Mom passed away. And 2010, with all the possibilities it holds...is my year.
I am still trying to sort it all out, and ask if anyone knows anything about starting from scratch to do something you love, let me know. I need the help. Where do you begin? Desire? Check. Product? check. Is it useable? check. Will it make me feel that I am contributing something? Check. Check.
Now where do I go from here?

Hang in with me....
Ok. Pics are coming! Thank you for all your well thoughts. I too am glad that it was not anything more serious. But come on...bushwhacking of your little princesses hair IS SERIOUS. Breathe. Breathe. Ill get the before and after here this weekend.

The VERY SHORT Silver lining
I knew I should have acted on the prompting I had when I had it....
I knew I should have DEMANDED instead of just asking the Red Flame to go and check on the girls.
I knew better than to let them play upstairs by themselves without one of us being near by.
I knew I should have acted on the 2nd prompting I had and immediately gone upstairs to check...
But I didn't...
So now I join the club of "Mom's whose kids have taken scissors to their hair...and made a mess of it."
Sofia took to the scissors (which she had to literally McGyver to get to...) and took chunks out of hers and Ella'a hair. This followed with an emergency trip to "Cookie Cutters" and the stylist telling me of the many other stories of Mom's whose kids have done the same thing. SIGH.
The short silver lining? Well Sofia may look like a boy, but now I know I like her with long hair better....Ella has patches of hair missing from her head, but being as blond as she is, Im just going to put her in hats for the next few months. And the most important? As my Dad said, it was a trip to the salon and not the E.R.
Now if all this will only sink in enough to make me feel better about the whole thing.
