Finish this sentence....

My sweet little Sofia has gotten used to her Mom singing in the car as we are minus a CD Player/Radio. If you do not know the story behind this, see a previous blog. Well one of her fave's as of late is Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Here is how it usually goes down.

Me: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little (pause)

Her: Star

Me: How I wonder what you (another pause)

Her: Are

Me: Up above the moon so (you guessed it...)

Her: High

Me: Like a diamond in the (you get the idea now?)

Her: Sky

Me: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little

Her: Star

Me: How I wonder what you

Her: Are

Now what you have to do is go back and sing it to yourself (or out loud if you are brave enough to and not at work... and when you get to the "her" parts- sing as out of tune as you can and a bit quiet....

You now have the full experience of our version of twinkle, twinkle, little, star... and you know a bit better why it is I love this little one so much.

Here to Stay....

For those of you who know what the Martushev's have gone through in the greencard process- you will know how much the next sentence means...

Artyom is now a permanent resident of the United States of America!!!

We got the 10 year greencard in the mail yesterday and Artyom danced a jig in the middle of the kitchen (much to Sofia's delight). I must say I was pretty happy myself. If you are one of the growing # of people who has married someone from another country and are going through this process- DONT GIVE UP! It will happen if you follow the rules and do things the right (and legal) way. It might cost a pretty penny (ok...it's ALOT more than a penny). But when you get the 10 year greencard, it makes it worth it.

Congrats my Russian Red Flame. We sure did not know what we were getting into when we began this journey- but I for one am glad we have stuck it out.
We I love you.

Now on to citizenship!

Is it the hair?!?

I love the two's. Despite the terrible temper tantrums and the sudden repeating of the word "no" in a days time, I love to hear what comes out of my little Sofia's mouth as she puts new things together. Here was the latest that just had to be blogged as I need to put it in her journal as well.

She was watching Peter Pan and we pointed to Captain Hook and told her who it was. As we went through each character, we would go back to them and she told us who they were. Well we got back to Captain Hook and asked her "Sof- who is that?" She quickly replied "Jesus!" Ok...Maybe that was a fluke...Nope. Each time Captain Hook came on the screen- Mama! There's Jesus!

Wow. Wonder what she will call other famous Disney bad guys.
